TWQA Offers Online Advanced WTS Training in February

The Texas Water Quality Association is conducting an online Advanced Water Conditioning course beginning February 2 2021. The course will be delivered via 1 3-hour and 2 2-hour training sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, February 2, 3 and 4. Each session will begin promptly at 8:00 AM. The first session will end at 11:00 AM, the remaining sessions will complete at 10:00 AM. Registered participants will receive an email with a link to the online training sessions.

Please note that participants must attend all days to receive credit for the course and each participant must have a separate email address, and respond to polling questions and chat conversations, so that the instructor can verify participation.

October Advanced Water Conditioning Training Rescheduled

TWQA has rescheduled the October 2020 Advanced Water Conditioning class for October 27, 28 and 29. In addition to the change in dates, the class times have also changed. Class will begin at 7:00AM on October 27 and at 8:00AM on October 28 and 29. As before, all classes will be delivered using WebEx. Please plan on joining the WebEx call a few minutes early so the classes can begin on time and stay on schedule.

All registered participants have been confirmed for the new dates. All participants must be able to attend all three days to get credit for the course.

October Advanced Training Postponed

Earlier today, TWQA announced that the Advanced Water Conditioning online training scheduled for October 13-15 2020 must be postponed due to an illness.

The association apologizes to everyone for the inconvenience. The course will be rescheduled for later in the month. All registered participants have the option to attend the later class or receive a refund.

TWQA Cancels 47th Annual Convention & Exposition

On Monday, July 13, 2020, the Texas Water Quality Association Board of Directors voted unanimously to cancel the 47th Annual Convention which had been rescheduled for October, 2020, in San Antonio, Texas.  

According to Daina Grace, TWQA Executive Director, 

"The ability to hold a safe in person event has been greatly affected by the current surge in COVID-19 cases as well as the uncertainty of what the future holds. The safety of our exhibitors and members is the most important factor so the decision was made. Watch for details regarding a virtual meeting to fulfill annual Association requirements.      

The convention has been moved to July 12th - 16, 2021, at the San Antonio Marriott RiverCenter.  Please mark your calendars to attend in 2021!

Online Training Now Available

TWQA is now offering online training for water quality professionals preparing for, and maintaining, Water Quality Specialist certification in the State of Texas. According to Daina Grace, TWQA Executive Director, the Association's goal is to offer both Basic Water Conditioning and Advanced Water Conditioning,  hosted by state-certified instructors, on a monthly basis.

Online training sessions have a limited class size, so check the training schedule and sign up early to reserve your spot.

TWQA Offers Online Training During Coronavirus Pandemic

TWQA has received approval from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality to offer ONLINE TRAINING COURSES during the COVID-19 pandemic crisis.  

The approved courses  are:
Course Code 691 - Basic Water Conditioning 
Course Code 692 - Advanced Water Conditioning  

Once the dates for the April 2020 training courses are confirmed they will be emailed and posted on the TWQA website.  Online registration will be available on the  TWQA website .  We anticipate offering multiple monthly training sessions as needed and as instructors are available.  

Training rates will remain :  
TWQA members $125.00 per person per course and              
Non-members $250.00 per person per course.  
These rates include manuals.  

Please note that the approval letter from TCEQ states ..."This provisional approval will extend through the current 2020 coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic crisis.  Once operations have returned to normal, this approval may be recalled pending a reevaluation. "

TWQA Cancels April Training

After careful consideration, and in accordance with current national and state CDC guidelines, TWQA has cancelled the Water Treatment Specialist training scheduled for April 6 and 7 in Lubbock Texas. If conditions and guidelines change, the Lubbock training may be rescheduled for later in April or May, or - once approved by TCEQ - TWQA will hold the training online. TWQA will notify all members and recent trainees once a final decision is made.

If you have already been charged for the April 2020 training, please contact TWQA office at 361.935-0232 to receive either a refund or for credit toward future training.

Please note that TWQA cannot cancel hotel reservations. If you have already booked a room, you will need to contact the hotel directly to cancel your reservations.

TCEQ Cancels January WTS Exams

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality informed TWQA staff that, due to a lack of registrations, no WTS exams will be offered during the January training session in Kyle Texas.
